According to BCC Research, consumers of ultra-high definition displays will see a huge growth. This is mainly due to the growth of technology adoption rate, the increase of consumer disposable income, technological progress and the growth of 4K content and TV sales.
BCC estimates that by 2022, the global UHD display market will increase from 52.3 billion dollars in 2017 to nearly 132.9 billion dollars, with a compound annual growth rate of 20.5%.
On the technical level, the market is subdivided into LED technology, OLED technology and QLED technology. In terms of growth rate, QLED technology will dominate the market with a compound annual growth rate of 35.8%. In terms of terminal use, the market can be subdivided into TV, monitor, projector, mobile phone, virtual reality head display and 4K recording equipment.
BCC said that in 2016, the Asia Pacific region dominated the 4K market in each region with a revenue of US $18.4 billion, and it is expected that the revenue of US $51.6 billion will continue to be the top in 2022.

According to the UHD service providers, most American Internet users lack a stable high-speed network of 25Mbps or more for streaming UHD content. This is a necessary condition for streaming 4K UHD content from major content providers.
Anand Bhandari, BCC research analyst and report author, said that in the past few years, GDP and average national income have increased globally. With the increase of disposable income, the purchasing power of end users will also increase. The sales volume of high-end electronic products showed a sustained high growth trend.
The national income of developed countries in North America (such as the United States and Canada) and Europe (such as the United Kingdom, Germany and France) has maintained a stable growth at a relatively high level. China, India and other developing countries have low national income, but they are also growing rapidly. The report predicts that they will all become important 4K UHD markets in the Asia Pacific region within the time period.
