Last week, Amazon launched a new version of the 4K TV Stick 4K, adding support for Dolby Vision and HDR10, as well as a new Alexa voice remote control.
This new version of the TV stick has a four core 1.7GHz processor, which can provide a faster streaming media experience and loading speed. Amazon has also developed new antenna technology and 802.11ac Wi Fi chips.
The Fire TV Stick 4K is open for booking and will ship on October 31 in the United States and Canada, and November 14 in the United Kingdom. In the UK, it will face competition from Sky Now TV and Roku. The price of the equipment in the United States is 49.99 US dollars and that in the United Kingdom is 49.99 pounds. In contrast, Roku's equally positioned TV stick sells for $70.
The Alexa voice remote control with the TV stick has a special power switch, volume and mute button to control compatible TV, audio and receiver. The user can switch the TV, switch the input source and switch the channel on the cable TV set-top box by voice. A single remote control costs $29.99 or GBP.
Amazon said: "The quad core processor of our new device can bring a faster and smoother experience, supporting Dolby Vision and HDR10. In addition, the Alexa voice remote control can let you quickly find the content you want through sound. Just say 'Find 4K movies'."
In April 2017, Amazon released the last version of the Fire TV stick with Alexa voice control in the UK.
Not long ago, Amazon also released new products such as Fire TV Recast wireless TV recorder. Recast enables users to watch, record and play back wireless TV programs on Fire TV, Echo Show and compatible Fire tablets, iOS and Android devices. To do this, users need to connect a high-definition antenna.
